Building the Tate Modern
The photographer Aris Kyriakides was granted total access during the construction process of the Tate Modern, documenting the building in three ways: Firstly by taking "found objects" from the site such as pipes, cans and boxes, turning them into pinhole cameras and returning them into their original position so as to take a photograph, ostensibly recording the environment's own perspective on the building. Secondly the portfolio is augmented by 35mm black and white photos taken by the photographer of the building and workers. For the final part of the project we are currently awaiting permission from the Tate in order to complete it. Rest assured it promises to be spectacular.....
